The practice of accepting paper documents from citizens in the pension system will be abolished
By Presidential Resolution No. PP-355 dated September 28, 2026, the gradual digitalization and transition to a proactive form of state pension provision services was established.
According to the resolution, starting from January 1, 2027, the Pension Fund will stop the practice of accepting documents and information in paper form from citizens. Necessary pension-related information will be obtained through information systems.
From that day, the "Mening pensiyam" (My Pension) online service will also be launched. Through this service, citizens will be able to view information regarding work experience, periods of full-time education, and military service taken into account for pension calculation, determine the pension amount, and send electronic requests to obtain archival data. Citizens who are one year away from reaching retirement age will be notified in advance.
Starting from January 1, 2027, the survivor's pension will also be assigned in a proactive manner, without a separate application. In addition, services such as switching the pension payment to cash form, restoring a suspended pension, and registering a pension file when the residential address changes will be provided in electronic form.
From November 1, 2026, citizens who have been assigned a pension will be provided with the opportunity to open a bank account through biometric identification — Face-ID.
Also, from December 1, 2026, citizens will be able to apply electronically to switch from one type of pension to another or to have their pension amount recalculated based on additional archival and electronic data.
The resolution defines reducing bureaucratic obstacles in the pension system and fully transitioning services to an interactive and proactive form by January 1, 2027, as one of the main tasks.
