The Central Bank of Uzbekistan has released its labor market review for the second quarter of 2026. It also outlines trends in external labor migration.

At the same time, the importance of other destinations for Uzbek labor migrants is growing. According to the Central Bank, the number of Uzbeks in Turkey, South Korea, Europe, and the US has increased significantly in recent years.

The high growth in the flow of migrants was mainly due to Europe and Turkey. In 2025, the number of Uzbek migrants in the European Union increased by 13.2 percent, and in Turkey by 10.7 percent. As of July 1, 2026, the number of Uzbeks in Turkey was 70 thousand (a 9.3 percent increase), while the number of those in South Korea reached 102.2 thousand (a 3.3 percent increase).
