The number of enterprises in Uzbekistan has almost tripled in 16 years

The number of enterprises in Uzbekistan has almost tripled in 16 years. According to the National Statistics Committee, as of August 1, 2026, there were 601.3 thousand enterprises and organizations operating in the country.

This figure is 400.3 thousand more than the 201 thousand enterprises on January 1, 2010, which means an almost threefold increase.

The growth in the number of enterprises and organizations has accelerated significantly, especially after 2018. While 285.5 thousand entities were registered in 2018, this number reached 323.5 thousand in 2019, and 398.1 thousand in 2020.

The growth trend continued in subsequent years: at the beginning of 2021, 475.2 thousand enterprises and organizations were operating, in 2022 - 528.9 thousand, and in 2023 - 592.4 thousand.

However, as of January 1, 2024, the number of enterprises and organizations was 485 thousand. In 2025, this figure decreased again, to 424.8 thousand.

As of January 1, 2026, the number of operating enterprises and organizations reached 474.9 thousand. This indicator at the beginning of the year itself indicates that it was higher than in 2025.

The growth continued after the beginning of this year. As of August 1, the number of enterprises and organizations reached 601.3 thousand. This is 126.4 thousand more than the 474.9 thousand at the beginning of the year.
