The Ministry of Economy and Finance has warned about scammers promising money for votes in the Open Budget.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance has issued a warning regarding fraudulent schemes offering cash rewards for voting on the Open Budget platform. Messages urging citizens to vote for money are actively spreading on social media, prompting the Ministry of Economy and Finance to warn the public of the potential danger and strongly recommend refraining from sharing personal information with strangers.

According to information received from the ministry, such offers are made through unofficial Telegram bots. Unknown individuals promise cash or other material assets in exchange for votes cast for specific projects. However, after a vote is received, the promised reward is not paid. The ministry has already received hundreds of complaints from citizens who have experienced non-payment of promised funds.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance emphasized that voting on Open Budget is completely free and does not offer any financial incentives. Voting can only be done through the official Open Budget portal, its official mobile apps for Android and iOS, and the official Telegram bot.

As a reminder, the second season of Open Budget 2026 began on August 22 and will run until 11:59 PM on August 31.
