Research of a farmer from Syrdarya in the field of selection: the history of the creation of the variety "An-Boyovut-2"

In the "Uzbekistan" neighborhood of the Boyovut district, Khudoykul aka Mahkamov, who is approaching eighty years old and the holder of the "Mehnat Shuhrati" order, lives. He is one of the co-authors of the famous "An-Boyovut" cotton variety, which is well known to our farmers in cotton growing.

According to Khudoykul aka, fate brought him together with selfless people of his time. He was 30 years old when he met the breeding scientists. Long-term experiments were conducted at the Boyovut station of the Research Institute of Experimental Biology of the Academy of Sciences. Along with the authors of the variety, Saodat Sodiqov, Solijon Sultanov, and Remer Rakhimboyev from Karakalpakstan, Khudoykul aka was also given the authorship of the variety. The variety was mainly created in 1970-1976 and zoned in 1983. It has been granted 9 patents, among which early and mid-ripening varieties stand out.

The "An-Boyovut-2" variety has its own unique characteristics. To obtain high yields from it, the land must be well prepared. Since it is naturally drought-resistant, it is adapted to desert conditions. With good cultivation, it can yield 45 centners per hectare. The quality of its fiber is good, strong and meets the requirements of type 5. This variety has justified the trust of our farmers.

Currently, he is a close advisor and supervisor of the "Mahkamov Jahongir" farm, where the children of the father work. Although innovation and science are developing rapidly today, hard work still bears fruit. This is undoubtedly a historical feat.
