The issue of the innocence of the recently convicted former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Bekmurod Abdullayev and other employees has been fully reviewed, announced Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Ramazon Ashropov. In July, it was stated that in addition to Abdullayev, the cases of 28 other employees would be heard in court.

The former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Bekmurod Abdullayev, whose trial reportedly began on July 29, and other officers tried alongside him, have been found innocent. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Ramazon Ashropov, during a press conference held on October 9.
"Regarding them, God willing, a conference will be held, and you can ask your questions there to the agency that investigated and passed the verdict. On this matter, we can say in general terms that the issue of innocence has been fully reviewed not only for [Bekmurod] Abdullayev, but also for other leaders or officers there," Ashropov said.
On July 28, the Supreme Court website reported the commencement of the court hearing for the case of the former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Bekmurod Abdullayev, the former head of the Department for the Execution of Punishments, Rustam Tursunov, and 28 other individuals.
During a meeting on January 27, Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated that cases of embezzlement of budget funds had been detected in public procurement within the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to him, 186 billion soums had been plundered. At that time, the head of state announced that criminal cases had been initiated against Bekmurod Abdullayev and Rustam Tursunov.
Bekmurod Abdullayev was charged under Article 167, Part 2, paragraphs "a" and "b", as well as several paragraphs of Part 3 of the Criminal Code (Embezzlement or misappropriation). In the summer, the court case concerning him was reviewed in a closed session.
At the beginning of the month, information appeared in the media that Bekmurod Abdullayev and Rustam Tursunov were acquitted by a court verdict on September 11. No official information regarding the results of the trial has been published yet.
On September 25, it was announced that Bekmurod Abdullayev had been appointed as the head of the Department for Coordinating the Activities of Internal Affairs Bodies of Chilonzor District.
