The "Green Wave" system has started operating on Fargona Yuli (Fergana Highway) in Tashkent
Another corridor of the "Green Wave" system has been launched in Tashkent on Fargona Yuli. Specialists from the Traffic Management Center synchronized the operation of 13 traffic light objects on a 6-kilometer section of the highway — from the "Kuyluk-ota" mausoleum beyond the Kuyluk bridge to UzBUM.
The new traffic mode operates around the clock. Measurements showed that the travel time for this section during off-peak hours has decreased by approximately 25 percent: while the journey previously took 12–13 minutes, motorists now cover it in an average of 9 minutes.
The synchronization of traffic lights allows drivers who adhere to the calculated speed limit to pass through the maximum number of intersections without stopping. This makes traffic flow more even and reduces the overall load on the highway. Fargona Yuli is one of the key entry arteries of the capital, receiving an intense flow of transport from the Tashkent region and distributing it towards the center. Specialists continue round-the-clock monitoring of the traffic situation on the section for precise adjustments of traffic light phases if necessary.
As a reminder, the Traffic Management Center (TMC) previously optimized the traffic scheme on Abdulla Kadiri Street in Tashkent. The changes affected a section where drivers traveling from the Ecopark side who planned to make a U-turn in the direction of Movaraunnahr and Mahatma Gandhi streets previously had to make a long detour.
