First "Tourism Village" being established in Navoiy region
An initiative has been put forward to grant the status of "Tourism Village" to the Yangikozgon neighborhood in the Konimex district of Uzbekistan's Navoiy region.
This project is aimed at developing tourism infrastructure, creating new jobs, and increasing the income of the local population.
According to the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, 21 family guesthouses and a camp consisting of seven yurts are currently operating in the neighborhood. In addition, five types of additional services have been launched for tourists.
Through the development of tourism facilities, nearly 100 local residents who were previously unemployed, including women, have been provided with permanent jobs.
Yangikozgon attracts tourists with its natural landscapes, national traditions, and local lifestyle. These aspects create opportunities for the development of gastronomic, ethnographic, and rural tourism.
It is expected that granting the status of "Tourism Village" to the neighborhood will serve to expand the types of tourist services, support local entrepreneurs, and attract new investments.
This initiative is also aimed at increasing the recognition of the Navoiy region as a tourist destination in Uzbekistan and abroad.
