The Cryptology Institute is engaged in the examination of government agency systems and the training of IT personnel.
The institute trains specialists and academic staff, develops national solutions in the field of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and information protection, and also verifies the compliance of state information systems with security requirements.

The Presidential Decree No. PQ-300 dated August 20, 2026 "On the organization of the activities of the Institute of Cryptology, Information Security and Innovative Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was adopted.
This document is aimed at improving the regulatory framework, the system of training specialists and scientific personnel, expanding the scope of creating competitive national technical means, artificial intelligence and innovative IT products in the field of information protection, information and cybersecurity.
The Institute of Cryptology, Information Security and Innovative Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan was established on the basis of the Center for Radioelectronic Systems and Information Technologies at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi.
The main tasks of the institute were determined. The Institute was allowed to attract leading specialists from the republic's research, educational, scientific and production institutions, scientific and analytical centers, including foreign citizens, as well as to establish laboratories with the status of a legal entity.
The Institute will organize postgraduate education, advanced training of personnel, as well as the provision of services for cryptographic and technical protection of restricted information and certification of technical means of informatization.
In order to conduct an examination of applications for fundamental, applied and innovative projects for participation in competitions organized within the framework of state scientific programs, a scientific and technical council will be established consisting of highly qualified specialists from industry scientists, executive bodies of the republic and other organizations.
An extrabudgetary development fund of the Institute has also been established. The funds of the fund will be formed in national and foreign currencies from the following sources:
