The Central Asian economy at the beginning of this year

The results for January–March 2026 show that Central Asia maintains its status as one of the most dynamic regions of Eurasia, but growth is becoming increasingly uneven across countries and sectors.

Central Asia's Economic Landscape in the First Quarter of 2026

From January to March 2026, the economies of Central Asian states continued to demonstrate positive trends, although the speed and drivers of this growth varied significantly across countries. Among the countries in the region, Kyrgyzstan saw the most significant gross domestic product (GDP) growth, reaching 10.1%. It was followed by Uzbekistan, with 8.7%, and Tajikistan, whose GDP increased by 8%. Turkmenistan maintained stable growth at 6.3%, while Kazakhstan demonstrated a more moderate increase.
