Telegram has applied to register a personal domain name for users

Telegram has filed for registration of a personal domain name for users.

Telegram messenger founder Pavel Durov announced that he has filed an application for registration of the .gram domain. He reported this on his channel “Pavel Durov”.

With the help of this domain, users are expected to create their own websites based on the messenger. It works like this: the user’s name, for example, @telegram, is appended with the suffix .gram. As a result, the website link will look like telegram.gram.

“If the application is approved by ICANN, one billion Telegram users will be able to have their own second-level domain,” said the messenger founder.

He added that it will be possible to create interactive websites through Telegram “with just one prompt.” No further details have been disclosed yet.
