Tax, export, and exchange activity grew in the regions

In January-August 2026, the main indicators of entrepreneurial activity in the regions showed positive dynamics. Across the republic, tax and customs revenues, exports of goods, lending, and the volume of transactions on the commodity exchange increased. In some regions, growth rates were significantly higher than the national indicators.

Tax, export, and exchange activity increased in the regions

The Center for Economic Research and Reforms analyzed the state of business activity in the regions of Uzbekistan in January-August 2026.

The analysis included the dynamics of tax and customs revenues, exports of goods, loans allocated by commercial banks, and transactions on the Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Uzbekistan.

From January 1 to August 31, 2026, tax revenues across the republic increased by 39.9% compared to the corresponding period of 2025 and amounted to 196.2 trillion soums.

High growth in tax revenues was recorded in Tashkent region at 35.1%, Syrdarya region at 31.6%, Samarkand region at 28.9%, Navoiy region at 28.3%, and Jizzakh region at 28.2%.

During this period, customs revenues across the republic increased by 17.6% and amounted to 55.4 trillion soums.

A significant increase in customs revenues was observed in the Republic of Karakalpakstan at 68.6%, Namangan region at 48.1%, Fergana region at 37.7%, Navoiy region at 31.2%, and Tashkent region at 25.3%.

From January 1 to August 31, 2026, exports of goods in the republic amounted to 11.1 billion dollars, increasing by 30.9% compared to the corresponding period of last year.

A significant increase in exports was recorded in Bukhara region at 58.3%, Tashkent region at 57.9%, Andijan region at 35.1%, Navoiy region at 34.7%, Surxondaryo region at 34.4%, and the city of Tashkent at 32.8%.

From January 1 to August 31, 2026, the volume of loans allocated by commercial banks amounted to 263.0 trillion soums, increasing by 5.5% compared to the same period of 2025.

A significant increase in lending was recorded in Samarkand region at 45.0%, Andijan region at 33.8%, and Bukhara region at 27.5%.

In Andijan region, loans allocated to individuals increased by 55% compared to the corresponding period of last year, contributing to a 33.8% increase in the total volume of lending in the region.

The volume of transactions on the Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Uzbekistan increased by 31.6% and amounted to 125.9 trillion soums.

The highest growth in transaction volume was in Surxondaryo region at 104.8%, where the main commodities were cotton fiber, gasoline, and liquefied gas. In Bukhara region, the growth was 82.5%, driven by construction materials, gasoline, and diesel. In Navoiy region, the volume of transactions increased by 41.5%, with the main commodities being construction materials, diesel, and mineral fertilizers.
