Tashkent Metro changed its status and became a joint-stock company.

The Tashkent Metro has undergone a transformation, changing its legal status to a joint-stock company.
According to Podrobno.uz, the state unitary enterprise "Tashkent Metro" now operates as a joint-stock company. Rakhmonbek Usmanov remains in charge of the Tashkent Metro, retaining his position.
It is emphasized that this transformation is intended to modernize the management system, increase transparency, and improve the effectiveness of decision-making. The new format is seen as a tool for ensuring the long-term development of the metro and the implementation of advanced management practices.
JSC "Tashkent Metro" also faces the task of further improving the quality of passenger service and ensuring traffic safety. Rakhmonbek Usmanov will continue to oversee the modernization and development of the metro, as well as the improvement of public transportation services.
The company states that the transition to a joint-stock ownership structure is part of a comprehensive effort to create a more modern, comfortable, safe, and efficient public transportation system in the capital.
As a reminder, the Tashkent Metro's rolling stock was previously updated with the arrival of three modern four-car electric trains. The new trains are expected to reduce service intervals, improve service quality, and gradually replace aging cars that have been in service for many years.
