The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, held a telephone conversation with the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, Ronald Ozzy Lamola.

During the conversation, the parties discussed concrete steps to intensify political dialogue, expand trade and investment ties, and promote joint projects. The head of the Uzbek foreign ministry noted the positive dynamics in relations between the two countries and called South Africa one of the republic's important partners on the African continent.

The diplomats paid special attention to cooperation within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement. The Uzbek side expressed interest in South Africa's active participation in events that will be held during Uzbekistan's presidency of this organization in 2027–2030.

The issues of launching the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and improving the bilateral legal framework were also considered. The heads of the ministries agreed to hold a personal meeting in the near future.
