Tajik President orders construction of Uzbek-language schools for Uzbek-speaking population

During his visit to the city of Tursunzoda, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon gave instructions on the construction of schools teaching in the Uzbek language. These schools are intended for the Uzbek-speaking population, and they were also instructed to provide them with textbooks and educational materials in the Uzbek language. This was reported by the Khovar agency.

At the opening ceremony of secondary school No. 21 in Tursunzoda, the President highly appreciated the quality of construction work. He also called on officials and teachers to be more responsible in improving the level and quality of education.

Emomali Rahmon encouraged teachers to focus on the development of modern sciences and the effective use of new technologies. He stressed the importance of studying exact and natural sciences, as well as foreign languages.

A total of 60 facilities were commissioned as part of the visit of the Head of State to Tursunzoda. Among them are 20 secondary schools for 18,200 students in two shifts, 5 private kindergartens for 950 places, 4 industrial enterprises and 1 tourism facility.

Also, 5 service facilities, 6 sports grounds, 3 refrigerator complexes for storing 5,300 tons of products, 9 apartment buildings, administrative and cultural buildings, a State Flag Square and a park were put into operation. Thanks to these facilities, 1,220 permanent jobs were created.

According to the responsible persons, 132 secondary educational institutions are currently operating in the city of Tursunzoda. More than 78,863 students are studying in them.

In preparation for the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's Independence, it is planned to build and commission 24 educational institutions in the city of Tursunzoda. So far, 19 educational buildings designed for 8,185 students have been commissioned.

In March, Emomali Rahmon paid a state visit to Uzbekistan. A number of documents were signed in the presence of the presidents of the two countries.
