Two men suspected of receiving $31,200 in exchange for promising to illegally obtain visas for three foreigners were detained in Tashkent.
Suspects of trafficking visas worth $31,000 have been arrested in Tashkent.
Officers from the State Security Service and the Department of the Prosecutor General's Office conducted an operation in Tashkent, resulting in the arrest of two men. They are suspected of illegally receiving $31,200 in exchange for promising to arrange entry visas to Uzbekistan for three foreign citizens, the State Security Service reported.
According to the investigation, the 41-year-old man received the sum by claiming to be able to illegally obtain entry visas for the three foreigners through acquaintances.
Of the total $31,200, he intended to keep $4,200 for himself and give the remaining $27,000 to a 66-year-old Tashkent resident.
The second suspect was detained while receiving the $27,000.
Criminal cases have been opened against both detainees. The investigation is ongoing.
