Standards on narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances have been updated
Amendments have been made to some departmental regulatory legal acts in Uzbekistan regarding narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their analogues. The amendments cover the standards for packaging and sale of "wholesale" products in pharmacies, as well as the prescription and issuance of prescriptions in medical organizations.

The norms for narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances have been updated.
In accordance with the order of the Minister of Health No. 25 dated July 31, 2026, amendments were made to certain departmental regulatory legal acts adopted by the ministry. This document was state registered with the Ministry of Justice on August 7 under No. 3919.
The amendments were made in accordance with the law adopted on June 11, 2026, aimed at improving liability for the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues, as well as potent substances.
In particular, amendments were made to the Regulation on the procedure for packaging, wrapping, labeling and sale of "wholesale" products in pharmacy conditions, approved in 2018. The words "narcotics and their analogues, psychotropic substances" in it were updated to "narcotics, psychotropic substances or their analogues".
A similar amendment was also made to the Regulation on the appointment of medicines in medical organizations, the issuance of prescriptions by international non-proprietary names, and the procedure for receiving, storing and using medicines by patients.
This order comes into force from the date of its official publication.
