The Senate of Uzbekistan reported that Sodik Safoev and US Senator Steve Daines discussed strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.

First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Uzbekistan Sodik Safoev met with US Senator and Co-Chair of the Senate Central Asia Caucus Steve Daines.

According to the Senate of Uzbekistan, the parties reviewed issues of further strengthening the Uzbek-US strategic partnership, expanding inter-parliamentary contacts, and regional cooperation.

Steve Daines positively assessed the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, as well as the country's sustainable development, noting the importance of strengthening mutual trust and cooperation between the two states.

During the conversation, the parties also exchanged views on enhancing transport and economic connectivity in Central Asia, including the development of the Middle Corridor. The Senator specifically emphasized the important role of Uzbekistan in strengthening regional cooperation.

Following the meeting, Steve Daines noted the need for the consistent continuation of cooperation between the US Senate and the countries of Central Asia and expressed readiness to further deepen the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the US.
