Snow fell in the "Hisor" state reserve in the Qashqadaryo region. This was reported by the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change.
It is noted that the weather cooled down sharply in the "Hisor" state reserve under the jurisdiction of the Department of Protected Natural Areas, and the upper areas of the Miraki and Gelon sections of the reserve were covered with snow.
For information, the "Hisor" state reserve was established in 1983 in the Qashqadaryo region with the aim of preserving the natural complexes of the northwestern branches of the "Hisor" range in their original state, studying the course of natural processes in them, putting the scientific foundations of nature protection into practice, and protecting the rare flora and fauna in the wild. The reserve consists of the Gelon, Miraki, Tanxozdaryo, and Qizilsuv sections.
The total area of "Hisor" is 80,986.1 hectares. Of this, 24,308 hectares are covered with forest, including 12,203 hectares of dense woodlands. 56,678 hectares are not covered with forest, which includes 171 hectares of rivers and lakes, 31,819 hectares of rocks and cliffs, and 24,688 hectares of pastures. Another 35,000 hectares consist of high mountains, rocks, cliffs, and glaciers.
As a reminder, Uzhydromet announced that until Friday, the weather in most parts of Uzbekistan would be partly cloudy, with short-term rain and thunderstorms in some places.
