Grass Fire Extinguished at Kitab State Forestry in Uzbekistan
A grass fire covering about 1.3 hectares at Kitab State Forestry in Uzbekistan's Kashkadarya region was extinguished within 40 minutes, officials said.
A blaze that ignited in arid vegetation within Uzbekistan's Kitab State Forestry, situated in the Kashkadarya region, was successfully suppressed in 40 minutes, as reported by the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change.
The fire originated around 1:50 p.m. within the Kitab State Forestry grounds, close to the Takhtakaracha Pass.
By 2:30 p.m., the conflagration was completely extinguished thanks to the combined efforts of staff from the Kitab State Forestry, the district's Department of Ecology and Climate Change, and Ministry of Emergency Situations units dispatched from the Kitab, Shakhrisabz, and Yakkabag districts.
Initial assessments indicate the fire encompassed approximately 1.3 hectares, consuming dry grass. No damage was sustained by forest plantations, trees, or shrubs.
Forestry and environmental officials have since implemented continuous monitoring of the affected area.
An investigation into the fire's origin is currently underway by authorities.
The National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change issued a strong recommendation for the public to adhere rigorously to fire safety regulations when venturing into mountainous and forested areas during the sweltering summer months, especially those adjacent to roadways.
The committee emphasized that a conscientious approach to nature and adherence to fundamental fire safety measures would be instrumental in averting comparable incidents and safeguarding the nation's distinctive natural ecosystems.
