Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is participating in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States, taking place in Ankara.

At the summit, the leader of Uzbekistan put forward an initiative to expand travel opportunities between Turkic states using ID cards, as well as to simplify the rules for border crossing and staying in the territories of these countries.

"We also need to fully utilize the huge opportunities in the field of tourism. In 2022 alone, more than 40 million foreign tourists visited our countries. The time has come to create a Turkic Tourism Alliance to jointly present to the world the historic cities of the Turkic peoples, unique nature, rich culture, and traditions of hospitality," the head of state declared.

The President of Uzbekistan also proposed preparing a multilateral agreement on mutual travel of citizens in order to bring the peoples closer together and make their lives easier.

"It needs to reflect the issues of expanding travel opportunities based on ID cards, simplifying the procedure for crossing borders, and staying in the territory of the host state," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
