Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on his birthday

On September 22, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev conveyed his greetings to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. In turn, Serdar Berdimuhamedov conveyed the best wishes to the head of state on behalf of the National Leader of the Turkmen people.

During the conversation, current issues of further developing Uzbekistan–Turkmenistan relations of friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership were also reviewed. Special attention was paid to expanding trade and economic cooperation. It was noted with satisfaction that the volume of trade turnover is steadily increasing, and cooperation projects are being implemented in energy, transport, and other important sectors. The importance of ensuring the effective operation of the "Shavat–Dashoguz" joint trade zone was emphasized.

Additionally, views were exchanged on certain issues of the regional agenda, including preparations for the next Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, as well as the CIS summit to be held in Turkmenistan. At the conclusion of the conversation, Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the President and the people of Turkmenistan on the upcoming national holiday — Independence Day.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov has been serving as the President of Turkmenistan since 2022. He turned 45 on September 22.
