Sergio Ramos may continue his career in the EPL — AS

Spanish defender Sergio Ramos could potentially continue his career in the English Premier League (EPL). The 40-year-old football player is drawing serious interest from the club "Aston Villa".

The experienced defender remains a free agent after leaving the Mexican club "Monterrey". He played his last official match in December 2025 in the Liga MX. Currently, the Spanish defender is training individually and waiting for suitable offers.

Ramos spent the main part of his career at Real Madrid (2005–2021). During 16 seasons with the "Royal Club", he appeared in a total of 671 matches, scoring 101 goals and providing 40 assists. As the team captain, he won the Champions League four times and the Spanish championship five times. After Real Madrid, Ramos also played for France's "PSG", Spain's "Sevilla", and Mexico's "Monterrey".

"Aston Villa", managed by Unai Emery, won the Europa League last season and secured a place in the Champions League. However, the new season started unsuccessfully for the team. The club has collected only one point in the first four rounds and currently sits in 19th place in the tournament table.
