The September 11 terrorist attacks are one of the tragedies that humanity will never forget. On this day 25 years ago, several planes were hijacked in the US and crashed into various buildings, resulting in the deaths of thousands of people. Using this horrific terrorist attack as a reason, America "set out to take revenge on the terrorists": first invading Afghanistan, and later Iraq.

The world has experienced many wars. In most of them, the strong invaded to subjugate the weak, finding various excuses to start a war or using a minor incident as a reason for battle.
Let us recall the Mongol invasion of the Khwarazmian Empire. Genghis Khan invaded the neighboring state using the killing of his ambassadors in Otrar as an excuse. Historians believe that even if the Mongol ambassadors had not been killed, Genghis Khan would have started the war anyway. Or the First World War. Even if Franz Ferdinand, the heir to the Austro-Hungarian Empire, had not been assassinated in Sarajevo, this war was still inevitable.
The US invasions of Afghanistan in 2001 and Iraq in 2003 also began with reasons similar to the above. After the New York terrorist attack, the US started wars in Afghanistan and Iraq under the pretext of the "war on terror." They did not even provide a significant basis for this. But would the "most powerful country in the world" ask anyone for permission...
How did it happen?
On September 11, 2001, a group of terrorists hijacked four passenger planes during flight in the US. Two of them were planned to hit the two skyscraper buildings of the World Trade Center in New York, one the Pentagon, and another the White House or the Congress building in Washington. According to the plan, two planes crashed into the twin buildings in New York, and one into the Pentagon building. The fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.
As a result of the terrorist attack, about 3,000 people died. Naturally, including the 19 terrorists who hijacked the planes. Among the dead, besides the US, there were citizens of 92 other countries, including a citizen of Uzbekistan. The identities of 1,600 of the deceased were determined, and 1,100 people were considered missing. Later, more than ten thousand human bones were found under the ruins of the twin buildings in New York.
The September 11 tragedy also caused serious damage to the US financial market. Stock prices fell sharply, and American companies lost 1.2 trillion in funds. The terrorist attack caused at least 500 billion dollars in damage to the country's budget.
Concluding that the terrorists led by Osama bin Laden prepared for the attack in Afghanistan, the US invaded Afghanistan in October 2001. US allies also sent troops into the neighboring country, which was then under the control of the Taliban. The American army captured the capital Kabul and other major cities. The Taliban retreated to remote areas and waged a guerrilla war. The US fought in Afghanistan for 20 years, but could not defeat the Taliban. As soon as the last American soldier left, the Taliban took over the country again and established an even stronger government than before.
