Schoolchildren in Belarus will be taught to fly drones. This was announced by the country's Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Kadlubay.

According to him, a new program has been developed for 10th graders in Belarus.

“We have strengthened the practical aspect. The program for tenth graders includes a 10-hour course on learning and mastering the skills of flying drones. The practical block of medical training for girls has been significantly expanded - elements of tactical medicine have been introduced. We have shifted the balance towards practical training and increased their volume. We have moved from pure theory to specific skills needed in real conditions,” said Kadlubay.

According to reports, the militarization of education in Belarus has intensified. Starting this year, participation in 10-day field training camps has been mandatory for 10th graders. “Military-patriotic” groups are being opened in kindergartens, and “military-patriotic” clubs are being opened in schools and colleges.

In July, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that special operations forces had been deployed along the Ukrainian border by his order. Since the beginning of 2026, 43 bomb shelters have been restored in the country.

In June, the Belarusian Defense Ministry held exercises in the Grodno region, bordering Poland and Lithuania. During the events, actions to mobilize citizens and transport were developed.

On June 23, The Wall Street Journal reported that Russia was increasing pressure on Lukashenko by demanding the use of Belarusian territory to open a new front against Ukraine. It was said that Russia was considering using the neighboring country to conduct massive drone strikes and hybrid operations against NATO.

Following this news, Lukashenko said that Belarus did not intend to join the military operation against Ukraine. He said he had discussed the issue with Russian President Vladimir Putin many times, and stressed that Belarusians do not want to fight Ukrainians.
