Saudi club offers €60m for Manchester City player

Saudi Arabia have made an official offer of €60 million for Manchester City midfielder Thejan Reynders. According to insider Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, the negotiations are expected to be concluded soon.

The 28-year-old Dutch midfielder has lost his place in the first team after Enso Maresca was appointed as the team's head coach. As a result, the "city" have put him on the transfer list and indicated that they are ready to consider any offers. Earlier, the English clubs "Newcastle" and "Nottingham Forest" were interested in the player, but the price of €50 million was high for the Premier League teams.

The potential sale is part of a major structural change at "City". The club has previously sold Rodri to Barcelona and is preparing to buy Enso Fernandes from Chelsea for a record £120 million. With Reynders not fitting into the new manager's playing style, this huge offer from the Saudi club will allow the "city" to make a significant profit from this transfer.

Recall that the member of the Dutch national team moved from Milan to Manchester City in the summer of 2025 for €55 million plus additional bonuses. This was due to his effective performances in Serie A and his status as one of the best midfielders in the league. However, he could not show a consistent game in England and his minutes on the field gradually decreased.

For information, Reynders' current contract is designed until 2030, and the Transfermarkt portal currently values the player at €50 million.
