Saida Mirziyoyeva met with the WTO Director-General

During her visit to the USA, Saida Mirziyoyeva held a meeting with the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

During the conversation, the current stage of Uzbekistan's accession process to this organization and the remaining final tasks were discussed.

"I express my gratitude to the dear Ms. Okonjo-Iweala, who constantly supports us and provides expert assistance. We have covered a large part of this path, and from now on, it is very important for us not to slow down our momentum and to bring the started work to completion," said the head of the Presidential Administration.

Uzbekistan is expected to become a member of the World Trade Organization by December 2026. Uzbekistan intends to obtain an investment-grade credit rating and finalize its accession to the WTO.
