Russia has shortened the timeframe for medical examinations for migrant workers.

On September 1, updated regulations came into effect requiring foreign citizens arriving for work to undergo a medical examination within 30 days of entering the country. Previously, this period was 90 days.

Foreigners residing in Russia long-term must now undergo an annual re-examination. This procedure includes testing for dangerous infectious diseases, HIV, and the use of narcotic and psychotropic substances without a medical prescription. The costs of the examination are borne by either the foreign citizen or their employer.

Only authorized medical institutions are permitted to conduct medical examinations. The examination results are recorded electronically and entered into the federal registry within 24 hours. The information is also transmitted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and if dangerous infections or HIV are detected, to Rospotrebnadzor.

It was also reported that, starting September 1, citizens of Uzbekistan planning to stay in Moscow and the Moscow region for more than 90 days are required to register in the special "Amina" application.
