Restaurants and hotels no longer need to scan labeling at the checkout

Starting September 1, 2026, a simplified procedure for the digital labeling of goods for hotels and public catering enterprises came into effect in Uzbekistan.

According to the Presidential Decree (UP-175 dated August 27, 2026), tobacco products, beer, drinking water, and soft drinks purchased by establishments are immediately recognized as withdrawn from circulation for final consumption. This exempts businesses from the need to re-scan the labeling when serving guests and to indicate it in fiscal receipts.

To date, tax services have already carried out the procedure of writing off the balances of labeled products for 2,255 hotels and 11,016 catering establishments.
