"Rapunzel among horses": A horse in America known for its unusual tail has broken a Guinness record

A horse named Jenny living in the US state of Ohio has been entered into the Guinness World Records due to her extraordinarily long tail.

The record was officially recorded on July 25, 2026. Jenny is owned by Americans Mackenzie Loe and Rachel Estes, and lives at an equestrian school in the city of Spring Valley.

The horse's tail has been cared for over seven years. At the same time, the current result is almost 32 centimeters longer than the previous record set in 2007 by the mare JJS Summer Breeze. At that time, her tail was 381 centimeters.

According to Mackenzie Loe, before Jenny came to her farm, the horse had once completely pulled out her own tail. When they bought her, her tail was touching the ground, but it was not yet this long.

Jenny belongs to the American Saddlebred breed, representatives of which are famous for their long and thick tails. The horse's owners did not cut the tail, and over time it continued to grow. After that, they decided to try to set a world record.

Caring for the record-long tail takes several hours. It is washed and dried about once a month, and then braided to protect it from damage. On average, the entire process from washing and conditioning to detangling and re-braiding takes four to five hours.

During the long procedures, the horse sometimes begins to get impatient, but treats help her wait calmly for the grooming to finish. To prevent Jenny and other horses from accidentally stepping on her tail, it is braided and placed in a special bag.
