In Uzbekistan, new mechanisms for the sale of state assets are being introduced, additional conditions are being created for investors, and opportunities for the private sector are being expanded, the press service of the State Assets Management Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan reported.

Privatization processes are accelerating in Uzbekistan

According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 28, 2026, No. UP-177 "On additional measures to reduce state participation in the economy and accelerate privatization processes," within the framework of the privatization program, it is planned to put up for auction new state shares in 84 business entities, 1,242 real estate properties, and about 8,000 hectares of land plots for entrepreneurial and urban development purposes. This was previously mentioned by the President during a meeting with entrepreneurs in an open dialogue format in August of this year.

In addition, the liquidation and reorganization of 85 enterprises with state participation are envisaged.

Also, 84 properties that were not previously sold will be re-auctioned with a starting price of "1 million soums."

The total value of the assets being put up for auction is 100 trillion soums. It is expected that at least 14 trillion soums will be received from their sale by the end of the year.

The Decree introduces new sale mechanisms based on proposals from entrepreneurs, which will make the acquisition of state assets more accessible.

In particular, the advance payment upon purchase is proposed to be set at 15% (previously it was 35%), and the remaining amount can be paid in installments without interest charges (previously an average surcharge of 14% was applied).

For large transactions, additional payment terms are provided:
