According to sources, Bloomberg reported that one of the pilots of the Indian airline Air India was found to be under the influence of drugs during the flight.

The incident occurred on August 4 with an Airbus A320neo aircraft flying from Phuket to New Delhi. After falling into a zone of turbulence, the plane suddenly dropped to about 90 meters. There were 137 passengers and eight crew members on board. As a result of the incident, 20 passengers and four crew members were hospitalized after landing in the Indian capital.

Both pilots who were flying the plane passed a test for psychoactive substances. As a result of the initial test, one of the pilots tested positive. A subsequent retest also came back positive.

India's Civil Aviation Ministry said an investigation was ongoing. According to the ministry's rules, after the first positive test, the offender is sent to a rehabilitation program. To regain his right to fly, he must retake the test and get a negative result. If a second positive result is recorded, the pilot's license is suspended for three years. A third positive result leads to the permanent revocation of the license.

Earlier, a flight in Canada was canceled because a child refused to fasten his seat belt. Also, a man flying from Malaysia to India tried to open the emergency exit door of the plane. The plane was at an altitude of 9,000 meters at the time of the incident. In the end, crew members and other passengers neutralized him and tied his hands. When questioned by police, the man explained his actions by saying that he wanted to do it at that moment.
