Shortly before the incident involving the MiG-29, the Ukrainian military reported that jet drones, which were identified as belonging to Russia, were moving towards the port city of Pivdenne in the Odessa region. However, there was no information about the connection of these drones to the plane crash.
This is not the first such incident recorded in recent times by Ukrainian military aviation. That time, the pilot also ejected and survived. At the end of June, another Ukrainian MiG-29 crashed in the Poltava region. The pilot of this plane also ejected in time and was rescued.
