At least one person has died after a helicopter crashed in suburban Los Angeles, fire officials said.
Three other people were injured when the aircraft came down between two commercial buildings in the Chatsworth neighbourhood, a Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) spokesperson told the BBC.
Video from the scene showed two shipping containers and several vehicles on fire. The blaze has since been put out, the fire department said.
It was not immediately known who was operating the aircraft, but local media reports indicated it was a news helicopter flying near the scene of a fatal bus crash.
LAFD Captain Branden Silverman told the local affiliate of the BBC's US partner CBS: "We do have one confirmed patient that seemed to be outside of the helicopter when it crashed.
"That person was declared deceased on scene. At this point, we have not confirmed how many victims, or how many people, were inside the helicopter."
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the helicopter was not one of its aircraft.
The crash happened just before 19:00 local time on Tuesday in the area of Lurline Avenue and Nordhoff Street.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will lead the investigation into the incident.
