Nutritionist revealed two important benefits of beetroot

According to nutritionist and dietary expert Elena Solomatina, beetroot is of great importance for health.

Beetroot contains antioxidants such as betalain and betaine, as well as polyphenols. Although beetroot is sweet and has a high glycemic index when cooked, the fiber it contains is considered beneficial even for people with diabetes.

Speaking about the vegetable's potential benefits against cancer, Solomatina stressed that beetroot is important for cancer prevention, not for its treatment. The main protective effect is provided by betalains, which are powerful antioxidants in the vegetable.

Earlier, another nutritionist, Elena Ustinova, stated that beetroot is among the most beneficial vegetables during the cold and flu season.
