Now banks will no longer be able to withdraw all funds from a customer's card
The Central Bank of Uzbekistan has made amendments to the requirements regarding the relations of commercial banks with customers. According to them, when banks withdraw money from a customer's bank cards without their instruction for credit or guarantee payments, they are required to retain funds in the accounts equal to half the minimum wage — 680 thousand soums.
According to the regulator's decision, even if the contract between the bank and the customer provides for the collection of credit and (or) guarantee payments, the specified minimum amount must be retained in the accounts of all bank cards of the customer.
The decision will come into force three months after the day of its official publication, that is, on January 10, 2027.
