North Korea tested a new weapon (photo)

North Korea successfully tested a new weapon on September 20, describing it as an "ultra-modern defense technology."

The country's leader, Kim Jong Un, and his daughter, Ju Ae, personally observed the weapon test. Kim stated that this test significantly increased the combat capability of the country's armed forces.

The report did not disclose exactly which weapon was tested. Photos released by KCNA show Kim, along with his teenage daughter, examining a screen showing the country's eastern coast and a flight trajectory. The inscription "Hwasongpho-11-ma-1" on the screen may refer to a part of the short-range ballistic missile series that Pyongyang is modernizing.

Such a device allows the warhead to change its direction to evade defense systems. In addition, such a missile can also be partially placed into orbit. Hypersonic missiles are among the weapons that Kim Jong Un ordered to be developed to strengthen the country's nuclear capability.

For information, on September 12, the Armed Forces of North Korea conducted firing drills using artillery and long-range missiles. The weapons hit the targets with 100 percent accuracy. The area where the drills were conducted was not disclosed.
