No Uzbeks killed in Nepal floods - embassy information
According to the Dunyo news agency, there are no Uzbek citizens among those killed in the floods in Nepal and Tibet.
According to the information provided by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Delhi (currently also operating in Nepal), so far there have been no reports of any deaths or injuries to compatriots as a result of this natural disaster. The diplomatic mission is in constant contact with the relevant agencies and regularly monitors the situation.
According to Reuters, about 1.5 thousand people, including more than 700 foreigners, are missing after severe floods in Nepal and Tibet on August 26. Water and mudflows caused by the collapse of mud and rock masses into the Himalayan river destroyed roads and houses. At least 165 people are reported dead in Nepal, with local authorities saying the death toll could rise.
826 people, including nearly 500 foreigners, are missing in the country. More than 5,000 military and police personnel have been deployed in the search and rescue effort. Rescuers have found and evacuated 125 people, including 20 foreigners, as of today. Tents, food and other essential supplies are being delivered to the affected areas.
