Motorola showed new products at IFA 2026

Motorola, a Lenovo company, presented a new lineup of devices at the IFA 2026 exhibition, which included the motorola edge 70 plus smartphone, the moto watch ultra smartwatch, the moto snap wireless charger, and a special version of the foldable motorola razr with Swarovski crystals.

According to Motorola, the new products combine performance, artificial intelligence-based features, and expressive design.

## Motorola edge 70 plus: 200 MP camera and 6500 mAh battery

The flagship motorola edge 70 plus received a body with quad-curved edges, a 6.78-inch Extreme AMOLED display, and the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 mobile platform. The smartphone is also equipped with a 6500 mAh battery and a camera system with a 200 MP main sensor — the highest sensor resolution ever used by Motorola in its cameras.

The main camera supports optical image stabilization, Pantone Validated certification for color reproduction and skin tones, 10x Super Zoom, and 4K video recording. A separate macro camera is designed for shooting small objects and close-up details.

The front camera received a 32 MP sensor and artificial intelligence-based optimization features. When transitioning from portrait to landscape mode, it automatically switches to group mode with a wider viewing angle.

The camera also supports 4K video recording with adaptive stabilization.

On the software side, Motorola used the Photo Enhancement Engine, which analyzes images and helps preserve details. AI features run in the background, allowing users to get photos and videos without the need to constantly change settings manually.

## Battery life and charging

According to Motorola, the 6500 mAh battery provides up to 42 hours of talk time, up to 34 hours of streaming video, or up to 23 hours of social media use. 45W TurboPower charging is supported.

A bypass charging mode is provided for gaming. It allows powering the smartphone during a gaming session, reducing the risk of overheating and negative impact on battery longevity.

Cooling is handled by a vapor chamber, which dissipates heat faster than standard cooling systems.

This should help maintain a comfortable body temperature during intensive multitasking and gaming.

## Display and design

The 6.78-inch Extreme AMOLED received quad-curved edges, increased contrast, deep blacks, and rich color reproduction. The screen refresh rate reaches 144 Hz.

Sound is handled by two large stereo speakers with certified Hi-Res Audio. Dolby Atmos support provides surround sound.

Motorola developed the device's design in collaboration with the Pantone Color Institute. The motorola edge 70 plus will be available in four options: PANTONE Mountain View with a silk-like finish, PANTONE Gray Lilac with an acetate finish, as well as PANTONE Milky Blue and PANTONE Sage with a leather-like finish.

The body meets military standards of durability. The smartphone is designed to operate at extreme temperatures, high humidity, and high altitudes. Protection against drops and twice the scratch resistance is provided, in particular, by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

## Performance and AI features

The motorola edge 70 plus is equipped with 8 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage. The AI-powered RAM Boost technology is designed for smoother multitasking.

Users also have access to Google Gemini and Gemini Live. These tools allow working with text, voice, photos, and the camera, including generating ideas, learning, drafting emails, and planning various tasks.

The Circle to Search feature allows searching for information about an object directly on the screen by highlighting it with a circle, tap, or other method without switching to a separate application.

## moto watch ultra received Polar features

Along with the smartphone, Motorola presented the moto watch ultra — a smartwatch with health and physical activity monitoring features. In developing the software capabilities, the company once again collaborated with Polar.

The watch received tools for stress control, sleep analysis, workouts, physical activity, and calorie expenditure. Among the Polar features are Serene, Nightly Recharge, and Sleep Plus Stages.

Serene uses breathing exercises and real-time biofeedback, showing the time spent by the user in three serenity zones, as well as the alignment of breathing with the optimal rhythm.

Nightly Recharge combines an assessment of sleep quality and autonomic nervous system recovery. Sleep Plus Stages tracks the duration of different sleep stages, including light, deep, and REM phases.

For daily activity control, Activity Goal, Activity Score, Active Intensity Zones, and Inactivity Alert are provided. The Smart Calories system estimates the number of calories burned, taking into account heart rate, wrist movements, weight, and age.

The Energy Sources feature analyzes the body's use of fats, carbohydrates, and proteins during workouts. For runners, Running Coach is provided, which offers running and walking training programs and helps control pace.

## Connectivity without a smartphone

The moto watch ultra became the first moto watch with LTE support. The user can make and receive calls, send messages, and receive notifications without having a smartphone with them.

For paying for purchases, Google Pay is supported when adding a bank card to Google Wallet. A dual-band GPS system is designed for navigation and positioning.

The watch runs on Wear OS by Google and provides access to the Google Play Store. Google Maps, Google Messages, YouTube Music, Google Gemini, and other applications can be installed on the device.

The moto watch ultra also became the first Motorola wearable device with the built-in Motorola Qira system, compatible with certain Motorola and Lenovo devices. To interact with the system, you can raise your wrist or say "Hey Qira".

The hardware basis of the watch is the Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 platform. The device received a 1.5-inch OLED display with a brightness of up to 2700 nits and support for Always-On Display.

The 46 mm diameter case is made of stainless steel. The watch is compatible with third-party 22 mm wide straps.

IP68 protection and water resistance up to 5 ATM allow using the device during workouts in the pool, in the rain, and during hot yoga. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

With the Always-On Display mode turned off, the moto watch ultra works up to two days on a single charge. According to Motorola, 15 minutes of charging provides up to 24 hours of active use.

Motorola also presented the moto snap wireless charger. It is designed for compatible Motorola devices and other devices supporting the Qi standard.

When using devices with Qi2.2, the charger provides wireless power up to 25W. Compatible Motorola devices support charging up to 30W thanks to the company's proprietary protocol.

The package includes a 1.5 m braided USB Type-C cable. The charger is compatible with magnetic cases.

Magnetic alignment ensures a precise connection of the smartphone to the charging pad. The device is also optimized to reduce heat during charging and does not consume energy in standby mode. Protection against overheating and overcharging is provided.

## Special version of motorola razr with Swarovski crystals

A separate novelty from Motorola was a special version of the foldable motorola razr with Swarovski crystals. The device became part of the Brilliant collection, which combines technology, design, and premium style elements.

The smartphone received the PANTONE Meteorite shade. The back panel uses a quilted leather-like texture, and 35 Swarovski crystals in the Silver Night shade are set by hand.

A signature 32-facet Swarovski crystal is placed on the hinge, which reflects light when the device is opened. The package includes a transparent protective case designed to preserve the appearance of the smartphone.

The foldable razr is equipped with an external 3.6-inch display, on which you can run applications, view notifications, and reply to messages. When unfolded, a 6.9-inch Extreme AMOLED display is used.

The main camera consists of two 50-megapixel sensors and is complemented by artificial intelligence-based features. The 4800 mAh battery, according to Motorola, provides more than 36 hours of operation on a single charge.

The motorola edge 70 plus will go on sale in selected countries in Europe and the Middle East in the coming weeks. Motorola promises to announce prices and release dates in specific regions additionally.
