Honor showcases Robot Phone with moving camera

The system automatically recognizes and tracks objects, and can also dance to music.

Honor has unveiled a Robot Phone with a moving camera.

Honor has officially unveiled its flagship smartphone, the Robot Phone, with an unusual camera, which has a mechanical suspension. This device can rotate, track objects and even show various emotions, turning the back of the smartphone into a kind of companion robot.

To create a miniature stabilization system, Honor had to use more than 60 manufacturing processes and install more than 100 high-precision components. This design is protected by more than 100 patents, and the manufacturer itself calls it the most compact 4D suspension in the industry.

The titanium motor of the Osma weighs 2.6 grams and is 6 mm thick. The entire system fits into a case with a thickness of 9.6 mm. At the same time, the smartphone itself is quite heavy - 248 grams.

The camera can be controlled using voice: for example, you can ask it to turn or focus on a specific point. The system is capable of automatically recognizing and tracking objects, and also supports real-time auto-framing. This is very useful when shooting vlogs, live broadcasts, and during video calls.

Together with the Honor Yoyo artificial intelligence assistant, the hanging camera can observe what is happening around, interact with surrounding objects, and independently perform various tasks. In addition, the camera supports more than 100 gestures: it can nod, roar, and even dance to music.

The Robot Phone was the first device released as part of Honor's partnership with Arri, a German company specializing in the production of cinema equipment. The smartphone supports built-in Log-C3 encoding, on-device LUT processing for color correction, and a dedicated cinema mode that mimics the image characteristics of Arri professional cameras.

Initially, the Robot Phone will be available in silver and gray. Honor will announce the price and release date of the smartphone later.
