New information has emerged about the first device of OpenAI, which is being developed in collaboration with former Apple chief designer Jony Ive. According to Bloomberg, it will be a compact smart speaker without a display, about the size of a hockey puck. The new product will have an unusual shape, reminiscent of a "donut", and its price is expected to be around $ 300-400.

This device is being created as a physical embodiment of ChatGPT. It supports voice communication through a microphone and speakers, and advanced artificial intelligence models ensure that communication is as natural as possible. Over time, the system will better recognize its owner and adapt to his habits.

One of the main features of the gadget will be the moving elements of its case. They change their state to indicate that the device is responding to the user or performing an action. This is complemented by light indicators that indicate that the speaker is listening to commands.

According to sources, the new device will also be equipped with a camera and a set of sensors to perceive the environment. Thanks to the built-in battery, it will be possible to easily carry it from room to room, and the case will be made of metal with a premium finish.

Jony Ive and his LoveFrom design studio are responsible for the appearance of the device. After OpenAI acquired the startup "io", it attracted several former Apple designers to the project.

New details emerged against the backdrop of a lawsuit between Apple and OpenAI. The Cupertino company accuses the company of using trade secrets in the development of hardware products, but OpenAI denies these accusations. The company's representatives noted that they are creating something "completely new and different from anything Apple has ever done."
