Over $2 billion has already been invested in New Tashkent, but private investments are still lagging behind

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is holding an open dialogue with investors and entrepreneurs dedicated to accelerating the construction of New Tashkent.

As the head of state noted, more than $2 billion has been invested in the project over three years. At the same time, the pace of attracting the private sector does not yet match the available opportunities.

20 thousand hectares have been allocated for the construction of the new city. In the first phase, projects with a total value of $50 billion are planned to be implemented on 6 thousand hectares. Taking into account the construction of a new airport, the investment potential of the territory could reach $200 billion.

Currently, construction work is underway on more than 1 thousand hectares, mainly at the state's expense. Entrepreneurs have been allocated only 94 hectares.

The meeting also discusses business problems related to land allocation, obtaining permits, and payments.
