More than 179 billion soums in social cashback were paid to low-income families in Uzbekistan in six months

In Uzbekistan, low-income families received more than 179 billion soums in social cashback in the first six months of this year. This was reported by the Tax Committee.

According to the figures provided by the committee, from January to June 2026, 651.3 thousand consumers were paid a total of 179.2 billion soums in social cashback on the basis of purchase receipts. During these six months, 6 million 11.9 thousand purchase receipts were registered in the system.

By region, the largest amount of cashback fell on Andijan region, where 96.3 billion soums were returned to citizens. Tashkent city came in second place with 15.2 billion soums, and Samarkand region came in third with 14 billion soums.

We would like to remind you that from May 1, 2023, citizens included in the "Unified Register of Social Protection" when purchasing certain products had the opportunity to receive a value added tax (VAT) of 12 percent of the purchase amount as a social cashback, instead of the usual 1 percent cashback.

It is also worth noting that in January-March 2026, about 161.5 billion soums of social cashback were paid to 621.6 thousand consumers. In March alone, 65.1 million soums of VAT were refunded.
