More than 13,000 children in Uzbekistan received school uniforms and school supplies

More than 13,000 children in Uzbekistan were given school uniforms and school supplies.
In connection with the 35th anniversary of the country's independence and the beginning of the new school year, more than 13,000 students from low-income families were given school uniforms and school supplies.
According to the press service of the Office of Muslims of Uzbekistan, with the participation of employees of 2,161 mosques in the republic, school uniforms and school supplies were donated to 11,144 children from low-income families, families in need of social protection and families that have lost their breadwinners.
The total cost of assistance provided within the framework of this charity campaign amounted to 4 billion 929 million 995 thousand soums.
In addition, in 2026, the “Vaqf” charitable public foundation provided 1,500 orphans and real orphans with holiday gifts, school uniforms, and school supplies. In particular, assistance was provided to 302 students in Fergana region, 243 in Samarkand region, and 215 in Kashkadarya region who lost their breadwinners.
The 2026/27 academic year in schools in Uzbekistan will begin on Wednesday, September 2. More than 795,000 students who will be admitted to the first grade this year will be ceremoniously awarded the “President's Gift”.
