Surplus school supplies from 1st graders in Uzbekistan will be donated to kindergartens

The surplus of educational materials intended for 1st grade students in Uzbekistan will be used next year. This was stated in the government's resolution of August 24.

In accordance with the resolution, the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution "On additional measures to improve the material living conditions of teachers and students" is supplemented with paragraph 5-3. It states that the excess of the set of educational materials distributed in accordance with the number of 1st grade students admitted to general secondary schools for the current academic year will be taken into account when implementing state procurement for the next academic year.

At the same time, educational materials that expire before the next academic year will be provided free of charge by the Ministry of Preschool and School Education to compulsory school preparatory groups of state preschool educational organizations.

According to the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, more than 795,000 students who will be admitted to the first grade this year will be ceremoniously awarded the “President's Gift”. The “President's Gift” consists of 12 types of school supplies, including a school bag, 12 notebooks, a pen, 2 regular pencils, a set of colored pencils, colored paper, plasticine, a drawing book, 2 erasers, colored watercolors, glue, and a pencil case.

The 2026/27 academic year in Uzbekistan's schools will begin on Wednesday, September 2.
