More than 12 thousand drug-related crimes cleared in Uzbekistan in eight months

In the eight months of 2026, 12,104 crimes and 1,410 administrative offenses related to the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and powerful active substances were detected in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the Drug and Firearms Control Agency.

During the reporting period, the activities of 89 major drug crime groups were suppressed. From them, 1.4 tons of traditional and 61.7 kilograms of synthetic drugs, as well as 4.6 million units of psychotropic and powerful active substances, were seized. As a result of operational and preventive measures, the illicit trafficking of a total of 2 tons 708 kilograms of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and powerful active substances was halted.

Additionally, the activities of 15 online drug stores were terminated, and 1,911 internet resources with more than 630 thousand subscribers were blocked. Among them are 609 Telegram bots, 1,004 closed and 298 open channels, groups, and chats. 10.5 tons of precursors used in the manufacture of synthetic drugs were confiscated, and 18 illegal drug laboratories were uncovered.

7,316 individuals who committed drug crimes were detained. Among them, 77 are minors, 607 are women, 2,346 are youth, 1,296 are previously convicted individuals, and 610 are unemployed. The involvement of 127 foreign citizens in such crimes was also identified.

As part of drug prevention, 831.6 thousand promotional and educational-preventive events aimed at the population, especially youth, were conducted. 17.2 million people, including 11.6 million youth, were involved in them. 209.1 thousand materials about the consequences of drug addiction and drug crimes were covered in the media and on the internet.

Regarding the situation, a criminal case has been initiated against the criminal group under Article 273, Part 5 of the Criminal Code.
