More cars in a smaller area. A new multi-level parking lot is being tested in Tashkent. Video

The first model of an automated multi-level parking lot has been installed in the Almazar district of Tashkent. In this structure, cars are placed on several tiers, which allows for an increase in the number of parking spaces in a limited area.

The Road Traffic Management Center reported that the parking lot was installed in the "Kichkirik" mahalla as part of a pilot project. Currently, RTMC specialists are assessing how convenient and effective this format is in the conditions of the capital.

The structure operates through the vertical placement of vehicles: cars are parked on different levels, making it possible to accommodate more transport in a relatively small area.

Based on the test results, specialists will determine whether such parking lots can be further utilized in Tashkent. If the results are positive, similar structures may appear in other areas of the capital, taking into account the existing infrastructure and urban planning conditions.

The new format is being considered, among other things, as one of the options for solving the problem of parking space shortages in the city.

It is expected that the project will be presented to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his visit to the Almazar district today.

In the spring, a pilot project to create a unified parking management system was launched in Tashkent. It is designed to combine parking lots near shopping centers and service facilities into a common network.
