MOF-3 in Uzbekistan processed 10 million tons of ore

Copper Concentrate Plant No. 3 (MOF-3) of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC) processed 10 million tons of ore between March 16 and November 4, 2026.

During the same period, more than 160 thousand tons of copper concentrate were also delivered to the copper smelter.

The management of the plant reported reaching this production milestone to the Chairman of the Board of AMMC, Abdulla Khursanov.

For the new enterprise, this is the first major result since its launch, representing one of the stages in mastering its production capacity.

MOF-3 began operations on March 16, 2026. On that day, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, pressed the symbolic button to launch the enterprise. The plant is among the key facilities of the "Yoshlik I" deposit development project.

The design capacity of the enterprise is calculated to process 60 million tons of ore per year. After reaching full capacity, the plant will be able to produce about 900 thousand tons of copper concentrate annually.

Processing volumes grew gradually. In March, the figure was 661.5 thousand tons of ore, in June — 1 million 161 thousand 805 tons, and in October, it exceeded 1.6 million tons. Thus, the October volume turned out to be almost 2.5 times higher than in March.

12 mills are installed at the plant, 10 of which have already been commissioned. Adjustment work and testing continue on the remaining two. Their connection to production is expected in the near future.

The 10 million tons figure has become an intermediate result during the ramp-up of the enterprise. Next ahead are the phased achievement of design capacity, the stabilization of technological processes, and ensuring the required quality of copper concentrate.
