Mirziyoyev updated the composition of the business support council.
The new Public Council under the President includes 40 representatives of business, lawyers, consultants, industry associations, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved the updated composition of the Public Council for Entrepreneurship Support under the President. It includes 40 representatives from business, the legal and consulting community, industry associations, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. These changes are stipulated by the decree of August 27, adopted in pursuance of the objectives outlined at the 6th Open Dialogue with Entrepreneurs.
Davron Vakhabov, head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has been appointed Chairman of the Council. Abdumannop Buriyev, Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights and Legitimate Interests of Business Entities, has also joined the council.
The majority of the updated council members are executives and founders of private companies from various sectors of the economy. Among them are A. A. Abboskhuzhaev (founder of Grand Pharm Trade), Sh. Sh. Ergashev (founder of Orient-Confection), Zafar Khashimov (Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Anglesey Food), K. T. Abdulloev (founder of Sam Antep Gilam), and Jakhongir Artikhodjaev (founder of Akfa Group).
The board also includes the founders of the following companies: F. F. Mamatjonov (Uztex Group), Murad Nazarov (Murad Buildings), N. K. Komilov (Stdhealthmed), T. M. Sharipov (Procab), I. T. Abdurakhmanov (Paxtakor teks), P. R. Mirzaev (Manar Group), Zh. A. Shakirov (Uzbekistan Hydrogen Peroxide), and Zh. Kh. Ismatullaev (Chust Textile).
The new board also includes the business community's leaders and founders, including Navro'z-PTIK, Agromir Buildings, Mezon Business, Global Export Company, Click, Alimero Group, Navbahor Tekstil, Realsoft, International Business Audit and Consulting, Kids Plate Distribution, Uniagri Group, United Tax Advisors, Uzbek Leasing International, Ako Shams Consulting, Tasnif Group, Technologies of Real Time, Khiva Plaza, Dodo Pizza Tashkent, and American Hospital.
Representatives of the legal and professional community also join the board, including the heads of the law firms Veritas Inter Lex, Prae Legal, and Turon-Himoyasi, as well as the founder of International Business Audit and Consulting.
Additionally, the board includes economist and public figure Otabek Bakirov, Chairman of the Association of Restaurateurs of Uzbekistan M. M. Niyazmukhamedov, and Advisor to the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry S. A. Niyazov, who has also been appointed Secretary of the Public Council.
The Presidential Public Council for Entrepreneurship Support was established in 2022 following an open dialogue between the head of state and business representatives.
The council's responsibilities include public oversight of the implementation of entrepreneurial initiatives, interaction between government agencies, businesses, and civil society institutions, and monitoring entrepreneurship issues. The council also develops proposals to remove barriers hindering the development of entrepreneurship.
