On November 2, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is holding a meeting dedicated to labor migration issues. This was reported by Sherzod Asadov, the press secretary of the head of state.

It was noted at the meeting that the average monthly remittance per person working abroad does not even reach $500 in Syrdarya, $600 in Jizzakh and Navoi, and $700 in Surkhandarya and Khorezm.

In this regard, it was pointed out that governors, ambassadors, and technical college heads need to review their activities regarding the preparation of citizens for high-paying jobs.

"In fact, a person should go knowing where they will work, how much salary they will receive, and who will protect their rights!" said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The head of state emphasized that ambassadors, governors, and technical colleges must work together when entering foreign labor markets. It was stated that there are positive examples of finding partners in Germany, Turkey, Slovakia, and Qatar, connecting them with technical colleges, and placing citizens in jobs. It was pointed out that the activities of ambassadors in other countries in this regard are sluggish.

The meeting also noted that the scope of orderly labor migration has expanded in recent years. While work in this direction was previously carried out with three countries, now their number has reached 27. The number of major foreign employers partnered with has increased by almost 400.

Also, despite the fact that the number of Uzbekistanis working abroad has halved in ten years, the funds they send to their families have quadrupled.

According to the president, this shows that attitudes toward Uzbek specialists in the international labor market are changing, and citizens are going abroad as qualified personnel.

The head of state noted that there are citizens in Uzbekistan who wish to work abroad, while in other countries, the demand for manpower is high. It was emphasized that connecting these two opportunities is the main task of officials in the sphere and heads of regions.
